Getting started
How long until my website is live?
Most builds take two to three weeks once we have your business information and working Amrod API access.
What do you need from me?
Your logo, company details, Amrod account details, starting markup, trading terms and the domain you want to use.
Do I need Amrod API access before you start?
You need it before we can complete and test the live catalogue connection. An Amrod reseller account does not automatically mean API access is enabled. If you have not requested it yet, see our API access guide.
I am not technical. Is that a problem?
No. We handle the website, catalogue connection and sync setup. You need to provide the business information and your Amrod account access.
Can I see an example before I decide?
Yes. Contact us and ask to see the catalogue, quantity grid and quote workflow.
Catalogue and stock
Is the full Amrod catalogue included?
The website can publish the full catalogue returned by your Amrod account or only selected categories and brands.
How current is the catalogue?
A full catalogue refresh runs overnight. Stock is refreshed during the day and changes are checked every fifteen minutes.
What happens when stock runs out?
The site updates the stock figure from the catalogue feed. Where expected-stock information is available, it can be shown for an out-of-stock variation.
What happens when Amrod adds or removes products?
The overnight catalogue refresh picks up new lines and can move discontinued lines out of the live catalogue.
Pricing
Do I keep control of my selling prices?
Yes. You set the markup rules used to calculate the selling price from your own Amrod cost.
Can clothing and giftware use different markups?
Yes. Rules can be set by brand or category, with a default rule for everything else.
Can I use lower margins on bigger quantities?
Yes. Volume rules can reduce the markup at quantity breaks. You also set a floor so the margin cannot fall below the minimum you choose.
Can customers see my Amrod cost price?
They should not. Cost prices are kept on the server and used to calculate the selling price. The customer sees the selling price, not the cost or markup percentage.
Quote requests and orders
How do requests reach me?
The customer submits a quote basket. You receive the selected products, colours, sizes, quantities and supplier codes by email, and a copy is kept in the website admin.
Does the website place the order with Amrod automatically?
No. The Amrod API is read-only and does not provide an order-creation endpoint. Your team still places the supplier order.
Can my customers pay online?
The standard build is centred on quote requests because branding and other job-specific costs usually need to be confirmed. WooCommerce checkout can be configured for suitable unbranded products if required.
Why is there a colour-and-size grid instead of a normal quantity box?
Bulk apparel orders are spread across several colours and sizes. The grid lets the buyer enter the whole breakdown once instead of adding every combination separately.
Website control and ownership
Can I edit the website myself?
Yes. The site uses WooCommerce and normal page content can be edited from the admin. The integration code and sync processes should not be changed without technical knowledge.
Is the website mine?
The website is built for your business and uses your domain. The exact ownership, licensing, hosting and migration terms are set out in the accepted quotation and terms of service.
Can I use my existing domain?
Yes, provided you control it and it can be pointed to the new hosting environment.
Cost
What does the website cost?
The build is R18 999 once off. Hosting, domain registration, email and any agreed ongoing support are quoted separately.
Are there hidden monthly build fees?
No monthly build fee is stated in the package. The ongoing costs are the running services such as hosting, domain renewal, email and any support arrangement you choose.
